The Athens-Clarke County Library has several opportunities, including special event assistance, library store clerk, periodicals volunteer, shelf reader, Talking Book Center aide and recorder, Heritage room aide and Homework Helper.

Coaching
Athens Clarke County Leisure Services offers a variety of youth sport options, but is always looking for volunteer coaching. These sports include soccer, basketball, gymnastics, baseball, and tennis.

Tutoring
Athens Tutorial Program is seeking volunteers to provide administrative support as well as one-on-one tutoring.

Soup Kitchens
Located at Oconee Street Methodist Church, Our Daily Bread is Athens’ area soup kitchen providing lunch to anyone, serving an average of 125 people a day. First Baptist Church of Athens is responsible for the second Thursday of each month. Volunteers provide, prepare and serve food.

Artistic Touch
Help at the Georgia Museum of Art when they have special events or symposiums. There are different departments which you could help in, check the website to pick the one that interests you most.

Athens Habitat for Humanity
Founded in 1988, the Athens Habitat for Humanity has served the Athens community by constructing homes, rehabilitating and preserving homes, advocating for fair and just housing policies, and providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions.

Meals on Wheels
Definitely one of the largest community-driven volunteer activities there is a Meals on Wheels in almost every city. You are feeding people while getting to know them on a personal level, no just slopping food onto their plate as they pass by.

Athens Area Humane Society:
Athens Area Humane Society: The group has a variety volunteer opportunities for groups as well as single person volunteering, to even fostering your own dog.
